Eastvale History

EAST VALE SCHOOLHOUSEA one-room eight-grade East Vale schoolhouse opened in fall 1896, threeyears after East Vale Elementary School district was formed with RiversideCounty. The site, provided by the Fuller family, is now at the SE corner ofHarrison Ave. and Chandler St.Eastvale was a school name until 1982 and after 2006, but the nameorigin is unknown. Fuller family patriarch Harrison Fuller was born nearEastvale PA. The new district was just east of Valley School district, and mostof it was east of Vale ranch.Proposals leading to the citys incorporation adopted the name Eastvalein 2007.HACIENDA AT FULLER RANCHIn 1889 Charles and Ortus Fuller purchased the land between present-daySchleisman Road and the Santa Ana River, to raise horses for localtransportation in Los Angeles.In 1928 O.R. Fuller, son of Charles, built an elegant Haciendaoverlooking the river valley. The renovated Fuller RanchO became a successfuldairy and poultry ranch in 1931. After 1937 the Hacienda was a guest resort,frequented by Hollywood celebrities and by World War 2 patients from NorcoNaval Hospital.The ranch was sold in 1954 after O.R. Fuller died. The Hacienda wasdemolished in 2004.
